WE CAME FOR YOUR RICHES taken from upcoming Tilman Robinson album on Bedroom Community
We Came For Your Riches is a wordless shriek at my colonial ancestors and their systematic destruction of ancient cultures and country. The destruction continues to this day as 21st century cowboys with their Haulpaks and piledrivers pillage land for every last scrap of resources and governments undermine the rights of First Nations peoples everywhere.
Composed for voice, violin, cello, organ and pieces of wood with field recordings made at mine sites and electronic instruments built from recordings of medical equipment.
I acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation as the first inhabitants and the traditional custodians of the lands where I live, learn and work. I acknowledge Elders past, present & emerging and their ongoing connection to country. Sovereignty was never ceded.
